As a child, I had severe asthma. There is no one better equipped to talk about clean air because not being able to breathe any air is a horrible ordeal and I know the importance of it.

In 2006, when I ran for the Michigan House of Representatives – clean air and the environment were one of my issues. Tesla was just starting out, and I remember an article about how Detroit needs to watch out for this new electric car company and thought that would be the greatest thing since Ford rolled out his Model T in Detroit. Solar panels to charge our vehicles would take us off foreign oil dependency and clean our air at the same time – how cool is that?…
